What the results mean

Score
0 to 100, against a new ball of your type on this court. Use it to pick which balls to play and which to bin.
Keep, Pressurize or practice, Retire
What to do with the ball. Pressurize or practice means it has lost some bounce: a night in a ball pressurizer can bring it back, or use it for drills.
Liveliness
How much bounce energy the ball keeps compared with a new ball. 100% is new. Use it to spot a ball losing pressure before players feel it.
Rebound
How high it bounces compared with a new ball dropped from the same height. Use it to know what players will feel. 90% means a bounce one tenth lower.
COR (Premium)
Speed after the bounce divided by speed before it, on this court. 1.000 would be a perfect bounce. Use it to compare balls, brands and courts with one raw number.
Drop height
How high you dropped from, worked out from the first bounce. Use it to check the drop was from net height. A wrong height makes the result less reliable.
Consistency
Precision check only. How close your three drops were. Under ±1% the score is solid.
Official test rebound (Premium)
You drop from net height, but the federations test balls by dropping them from 254 cm (198 cm for pickleball) onto concrete. BallCheck converts your drop into what that test would measure. Green is the range a new ball must land in, yellow is close to it, red is well outside it. The marker is your ball. Use it to compare with the spec federations and brands publish.
Impact speed (Premium)
How fast the ball hits the court on each bounce. Use it to see how a ball behaves from hard hits down to soft ones.
Energy lost (Premium)
How much of its energy the ball loses on each bounce. A new ball loses roughly half; a dead one noticeably more. Use it to spot a ball going dead early.
Accuracy (Premium)
How far to trust the check, from room noise, how precisely each bounce was timed, and how well your drops agreed.
Bounces and Hz
Each bar is one bounce. The white mark is where a new ball would reach. Hz is bounces per second: it rises as the bounces get lower, and a dead ball speeds up sooner.
